Costa Rica Real Estate Project’s Beach Club Location Named One of the World’s Best Eco-Friendly BeachesPlaya Matapalo, Costa Rica, where Hacienda Matapalo’s beach club will be located, was recently named by CNN Travel and Mother Nature Network as one of the world’s best eco-friendly beaches.Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) July 26, 2010 Despite the huge number of people around the world who head to the beach each summer to escape the cities in which they live, not every sandy landscape they visit is beautiful and pristine. In fact, irrespective of the number of beachgoers, many shorelines on the planet are littered with garbage and suffer from polluted waters. Sad but true. However, there are some beaches that are so magnificent, they not only offer true refuge for travelers, but provide a sanctuary for wildlife as well. Recently CNN Travel and the Mother Nature Networkidentified the most spectacular, eco-friendly shorelines after searching the planet and, to no surprise, most of their top choices were on protected land or nearly impossible to reach. One of those beaches, Playa Matapalo, Costa Rica, happens to be the location of where Hacienda Matapalo’s beach club will be located. “I fell in love with Playa Matapalo the minute I saw it,” said Hacienda Matapalo’s Executive Vice President Brian Albury. “When we chose our location, we knew how special it was. Now the rest of the world knows too.” Playa Matapalo was named as the number two eco-friendly beach in the world, behind only Whitehaven Beach in Whitsunday Islands, Australia. Some of the beaches it ranked in front of include: Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, Oahu, Hawaii; Koh Libong, Trang Province, Thailand; Las Islas Cies, Galicia, Spain; and Sancho Bay, Fernando de Noronha, Brazil. Although their cartography was a little off, as the article referenced the Osa Peninsula which is actually about an hour and a half south of Playa Matapalo Beach by car, it did collectively describe the two areas beautifully. “Known as the lungs of the Earth,” the article stated, “the Osa Peninsula is blessed with a dense forest and a conservation-minded government. Half of the 500,000 species of flora and fauna located in Costa Rica can be found here. The area is also home to beautiful Playa Matapalo, a gray-sand beach popular with surfers that leads into the Portalon National Wildlife Refuge complete with a marine turtle protection project.” “We knew that Playa Matapalo was one of the best beaches on the planet,” Albury said. “It has been a recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag more than once.” The Blue Flag is a voluntary eco-label awarded to beaches and marinas in 41 countries across Europe, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada and the Caribbean. It works towards sustainable development at beaches and marinas through strict criteria dealing with water quality, environmental education and information, environmental management, safety and other services. The Blue Flag Programme is owned and run by the independent non-profit organization Foundation for Environmental Education and includes environmental education and information for the public, decision makers and tourism operators. “That was one of the reasons we specifically chose Playa Matapalo as the location for Hacienda Matapalo’s beach club,” Albury beamed. “It really doesn’t get any better than this.” To learn more about Playa Matapalo and the Hacienda Matapalo Beach Club, visit HaciendaMatapalo.com. # # #

Hacienda Matapalo, a gated community on Costa Rica's South Pacific Coast, is striving to be a pure green development in a country that prides itself on protecting the environment and being a strong community. (PRWEB) June 11, 2010 -- According to Wikipedia, “Pura Vida,” a phrase commonly used in Costa Rica, literally means “pure life.” But the phrase is closer to meaning “full of life,” “purified life” or “this is living!” Costa Ricans, however, use the expression to convey a philosophy of strong community, perseverance, resiliency and celebrating good fortune. When Costa Rica’s first female president, Laura Chinchilla, took office last month, one of her first actions was to sign a decree banning open-pit gold mining. By signing the order, she sent a clear message to her fellow Costa Ricans that she was determined to sustain the Pura Vida lifestyle by upholding the country’s strong environmental and ecological commitments. A few months earlier, Pegasus Star Limitada Chief Executive Officer David Matluck, announced the formation of Pura Verde Costa Rica Properties, pledging similar commitments to upholding the environmental standards of the country through the development of ‘green’ real estate properties. Leading the way by example is Pegasus’ primary development, Hacienda Matapalo, a gated community on Costa Rica’s South Pacific coast. “One of the most appealing features of Hacienda Matapalo is that it is surrounded by a natural, lush rainforest,” explained Hacienda Matapalo’s Executive Vice President Brian Albury. “The development’s 125-plus acre dedicated nature preserve and 90 acre nature conservancy parcel have helped drive our efforts from the beginning to be a ‘green,’ low-impact development.” “Once a property has been branded a Pura Verde Costa Rica property, it means that the property can be purchased with the confidence of knowing that the same due diligence that went into Hacienda Matapalo was performed by a team of experts in researching every possible element of these properties,” said Matluck. “This means that all of the legal, environmental and engineering issues pertaining to these properties are being ‘certified’ as having been thoroughly researched and determined to be in order.” Most importantly, Pura Verde means that these properties are in complete compliance with all the environmental laws and regulations that are designed to protect the environment from any semblance of abuse. “Our goal is to support sustainable development that guarantees that the South and Central Pacific Coast of Costa Rica remain pristine and free from any man-made harm,” Matluck said. “After all, that is what draws us all to Costa Rica; the awe we experience of living in and with nature in all its splendor.” In leading by example, Hacienda Matapalo tasked key members of its development team with the sole purpose of implementing and maintaining extensive environmental stewardship before, during and after construction. “It is our goal to utilize the latest ‘green’ technology wherever possible without jeopardizing our commitment to PRWeb eBooks - Another online visibility tool from PRWeb deliver the highest standards to our homeowners,” Albury said. “We believe that a balance and harmony with nature and our immediate environment will make Hacienda Matapalo a truly unique place to live.” The environmentally-conscious development will include an equestrian center, nature trails for hiking and horseback riding and recently announced it will add a 500-plus foot treetop suspension bridge to its development that will stretch across a ravine along the property’s nature preserve. Some of Hacienda Matapalo’s ongoing efforts include: • Minimized clearing of the present land (dense forest to remain throughout constructed areas) • A percentage ratio of 70:30 natural land to developed land (based on a total area of 665 acres) • For every tree that must be removed, up to three trees will be planted as replacement • There will be an onsite nursery • There will be an onsite wastewater treatment plant • Landscaping will consist of native species (reducing the need for water and fertilizer) • Subterranean power and electrical lines will be used where feasible and strict safeguards will be in place to ensure above ground lines pose no threat to wildlife • Recycling receptacles will be in place throughout the property, including an intensive recycling program • Energy saving air-conditioning systems will be used • A water agreement has been put into place to supply the nearby town of Hatillo with fresh drinking water • Onsite lakes will serve as recession ponds, natural habitats and home for many native fish • A biologist/naturalist with extensive knowledge of local flora and fauna will be on staff • There will be ongoing communication and involvement with the homeowners and community (i.e. community awareness and social responsibility) • Exploratory use of cutting-edge “green” technology will constantly be considered throughout development and construction Albury pointed out that Hacienda Matapalo will also utilize environmentally friendly goods for many of its external building materials including: use of concrete which contains post-consumer materials, siding and external finishes that contain post-consumer materials, low or no volatile organic compounds (VOC) finishes/paints/adhesives, sustainable and locally farmed woods and materials, pervious or permeable pavers/materials for walkways and parking, recycled materials for roofing and materials that drain well and do not hold moisture or heat. In a relatively short period of time, Hacienda Matapalo has become Costa Rica's premier planned gated community thanks to both the knowledge of its executive team and due diligence as performed by its strategic legal, engineering and ecological partners. Unlike their competition, this extraordinary attention to detail has enabled the Hacienda Matapalo team to protect both its investment and investors and rewrite the standards by which successful communities in Costa Rica are planned. Costa Rica Real Estate Project Supports Chinchilla’s Initiatives Following the lead of Costa Rica President Laura Chinchilla, the executive board of Pegasus Star Limitada, the developers of Hacienda Matapalo and marketers of other Pura Verde Costa Rica Properties, have committed to help bring qualified investors to Costa Rica through its many projects. (PRWEB) -- Two days before taking office, Costa Rica’s President-elect Laura Chinchilla had a meeting with a group of international business leaders organized by CINDE, the Costa Rican Investment Promotion Agency, outlining the importance of attracting more foreign direct investment. “One of the priorities of my administration will be to continue to provide and enable the right business climate in Costa Rica,” she said. Following President Chinchilla’s lead, the executive board of Pegasus Star Limitada, the developers of Hacienda Matapalo and marketers of other Pura Verde Costa Rica Properties, also recognized the importance of foreign direct investment into the small Central American nation and have committed to help bring qualified investors to Costa Rica through its many projects. “Not only do we have an obligation to help further President Chinchilla’s agenda as that will help Costa Rica, its people and the companies that do business there, but we have a unique opportunity to do so,” said Pegasus Chief Executive Officer David Matluck. “Real estate, whether residential or commercial, has always provided keen investment opportunities and right now there are no better opportunities than the ones available on Costa Rica’s Central and Southern Pacific Coast.” “Historically specific areas of Costa Rica have seen property investment appreciate at an average of 32% annually,” added Michael Starkey, Pegasus vice president of sales and investments and author of the white paper “How to Make a Million Dollars.” “Disgusted and distrustful of the U.S. stock and bond markets, investors have had enough of the greed, corruption and fiscal policies that have caused their IRAs and 401ks to lose 50% or more of their value.” “Many are becoming proactive, seeking out alternatives including foreign investments. The lucky ones find us,” he explained. Starkey, an expert in retirement funds and financial planning, has helped many people “break out of the Wall Street prison” by showing them how to replace their losing investments with stable appreciating assets like real estate. “Individuals are not relegated to owning stocks or bonds in their retirement plans,” he said. “They can directly own real estate and other investments like Limited Partnerships.” In light of current investment alternatives, it appears real estate has become the investment of choice among the savviest of investors looking to save for retirement. Considering Hacienda Matapalo is the best selling property in Costa Rica, recently announcing it surpassed the $60 million mark in pre-construction sales, it’s hard to argue with such statements. But there is another factor to PRWeb eBooks - Another online visibility tool from PRWeb consider. “Because we are primarily marketing our properties to buyers and investors in the U.S., Canada and Western Europe, our strategy fits right in with the [Costa Rican government’s focus on strengthening its position to attract more [foreign direct investment,” said Pegasus Chief Operations Officer Ed Sklar. “We recognize that foreign direct investment is more relevant than ever as Costa Rica increasingly incorporates itself into the global community and continues to offer the advantages required to be a competitive investment destination.” Recently Pegasus Executive Vice President Brian Albury outlined those advantages in a complimentary online seminar that was attended by more than 500 people where he provided illustrated comparisons of Costa Rica with its Latin American neighbors Belize, Panama and Nicaragua. The company has made the presentation available online. The May 6 meeting at which President Chinchilla spoke was held in the capital city of San Jose and organized by CINDE. More than 20 multinational companies from various business sectors were represented. To read more about President Chinchilla’s speech and learn more about CINDE, visit their Web site. Costa Rica Real Estate Project Bridges the Gap Between Man and Nature Hacienda Matapalo, a gated community on Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast, recently announced it will add a 500-plus foot treetop suspension bridge to its development that will stretch across a ravine along the property’s 125-acre nature preserve. (PRWEB) May 28, 2010 -- Hacienda Matapalo, a gated community on Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast, recently announced it will add a 500-plus foot treetop suspension bridge to its development that will stretch across a ravine along the property’s 125-acre nature preserve. “One of the most appealing features of Hacienda Matapalo is being surrounded by a natural, lush rainforest,” said the project’s Executive Vice President Brian Albury. “The development’s 125-plus acre dedicated nature preserve and 90 acre nature conservancy parcel have helped drive our efforts from the beginning to be a ‘green,’ low-impact development.” The suspension bridge is the latest feature to be added to the environmentally-minded development that will include an equestrian center and nature trails ideal for hiking and horseback riding. Because the majority of the area’s wildlife lives within the rainforest canopy, the hanging suspension bridge will close the gap between man and nature, allowing homeowners and visitors alike to have an up close and personal experience at the preserve. Hacienda Matapalo Costa Rica Real Estate has tasked key members of its development team with the sole purpose of implementing and maintaining extensive environmental stewardship before, during and after construction. “It is our goal to utilize the latest ‘green’ technology wherever possible without jeopardizing our commitment to deliver the highest standards to our homeowners,” Albury said. “We believe that a balance and harmony with nature and our immediate environment will make Hacienda Matapalo a truly unique place to live.” Some of Hacienda Matapalo’s ongoing efforts include: • Minimized clearing of the present land (dense forest to remain throughout constructed areas) • A percentage ratio of 70:30 natural land to developed land (based on a total area of 665 acres) • For every tree that must be removed, up to three trees will be planted as replacement • There will be an onsite nursery • There will be an onsite wastewater treatment plant • Landscaping will consist of native species (reducing the need for water and fertilizer) • Subterranean power and electrical lines will be used where feasible and strict safeguards will be in place to ensure above ground lines pose no threat to wildlife • Recycling receptacles will be in place throughout the property, including an intensive recycling program • Energy saving air-conditioning systems will be used • A water agreement has been put into place to supply the nearby town of Hatillo with fresh drinking water • Onsite lakes will serve as recession ponds, natural habitats and home for many native fish • A biologist/naturalist with extensive knowledge of local flora and fauna will be on staff • There will be ongoing communication and involvement with the homeowners and community (i.e. community PRWeb eBooks - Another online visibility tool from PRWeb awareness and social responsibility) • Exploratory use of cutting-edge “green” technology will constantly be considered throughout development and construction Albury pointed out that Hacienda Matapalo will also utilize environmentally friendly goods for many of its external building materials including: use of concrete which contains post-consumer materials, siding and external finishes that contain post-consumer materials, low or no volatile organic compounds (VOC) finishes/paints/adhesives, sustainable and locally farmed woods and materials, pervious or permeable pavers/materials for walkways and parking, recycled materials for roofing and materials that drain well and do not hold moisture or heat. Costa Rica Real Estate Pre-Construction Sales Surpass $60 Million at Hacienda Matapalo The best selling Costa Rica property, Hacienda Matapalo, has once again reached new heights by surpassing the $60 million mark in pre-construction sales. (PRWEB) May 20, 2010 -- The best selling Costa Rica property, Hacienda Matapalo, has once again reached new heights by surpassing the $60 million mark in pre-construction sales. “People have caught on,” said Dave Matluck, chief executive officer of Pegasus Star Limitada, the developer of Hacienda Matapalo. “Luxurious. Adventurous. Relaxing. Environmentally friendly . . . these are the words we hear every day about Hacienda Matapalo from the people who visit our location and decide to buy. From lakefront condominium-villas to single family estates, the home of your dreams is waiting for you at our 24-hour secured gated community.” Matluck painted a typical day at Hacienda Matapalo. “Imagine waking up to the sounds of the ocean and sipping a cup of world-renowned Costa Rican coffee from a veranda that overlooks the shimmering Pacific? After a swim in an infinity edge pool, you might take the property shuttle to one of Hacienda Matapalo's pristine, private beaches. If you are feeling ambitious, perhaps you will take a horseback ride to view one of several waterfalls located on our 665 private acres. Then after a visit to the clubhouse for a gourmet dining experience, you can treat yourself to a dip in the Jacuzzi to finish out the day.” “Sound like paradise?” asked Matluck. “That's because it is.” When asked the secret of “why Hacienda Matapalo has become the best selling Costa Rica Real Estate development?” compared to other properties in the region, Matluck replied: “It will be revealed in our next eSeminar.” Each month the leaders of Hacienda Matapalo host a complimentary online seminar on a variety of topics. The next eSeminar will be on Thursday, June 17 and is open to the general public. Interested parties may register here. In 2009 an independent British research company rated Costa Rica as the “happiest place on earth,” focusing on building a new economy "centered on people and the environment." Hacienda Matapalo embraces this concept with a strong commitment to residents and the environment. Because the property is lushly forested, no trees will be removed beyond the ones required for construction of the infrastructure and house pads. However, for every tree that is removed, one to three new trees will be planted as a replacement. Landscaping will consist of native species and only energy efficient air conditioning systems will be utilized. Hacienda Matapalo's commitment to the community and the environment is ongoing, with on staff naturalists committed to ensuring the best practices and highest standards of environmental preservation. But being an environmentally conscious country isn’t the only lure of Costa Rica. In recent months there have been major focus shifts throughout North America and Europe on health care, spurring an entire health care PRWeb eBooks - Another online visibility tool from PRWeb tourism industry. And on the heels of the rising costs there, comes word from the National Inflation Association that food prices are spiraling out of control in the United States and accelerating at their fastest rate since records began being kept in the United Kingdom. In Costa Rica, the cost of food went down last year and trends show it is on target to go down again for 2010. Transportation has also become an important topic on Costa Rica’s South Pacific Coast. Upgrades in transportation have made it easy to access Hacienda Matapalo's Costa Rican property. The Costanera Sur, the major Pacific Coast Highway, is now fully paved and runs directly in front of the property while area airports are receiving facelifts with longer runways and refurbished structures. In addition, the new Osa International Airport in the Southern Zone, scheduled to be completed in 2012, will provide new travel options for residents and alternatives for visiting guests. There is no better time to invest in Costa Rica real estate than right now and everyone realizes it. With the global economy continuing to recover and as history shows us, real estate prices in Costa Rica poised to appreciate dramatically, this makes purchasing at Hacienda Matapalo during the pre-construction phase a smart investment. Nothwithstanding, retirees can live like royalty with all the luxuries of an upscale development at a substantially lower cost of living than they would in the U.S., Canada or U.K. “Many of the buyers at Hacienda Matapalo have used their IRA or 401k plans to fund their purchase,” explained Michael Starkey, Hacienda Matapalo’s vice president of sales. Starkey has presented several free seminars on the subject of investing in Costa Rica real estate and has made those presentations available on the Hacienda Matapalo Web site. # # # Page 2/3 If you have any questions regarding information in these press releases please contact the company listed in the press release. | | Commercial Center to Cater to Costa Rica's South Pacific CoastAs the interest in Costa Rica real estate continues to thrive on the South Pacific coast, the planning of a new retail and consumer hub for the region is starting to draw a lot of attention - introducing the new Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center. Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 14, 2010 -- As the interest in Costa Rica real estate continues to thrive on the South Pacific coast, the planning of a new retail and consumer hub for the region is starting to draw a lot of attention - introducing the new Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center. Artist's Rendering of the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center Located at the north end of the Hacienda Matapalo gated community and adjacent to the newly paved Costanera Highway, the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center will feature at least two 10,000 square foot structures built on half of a six acre parcel. The commercial space - designed to blend in with its natural surroundings and beenvironmentally responsible - will consist of a variety of businesses ranging from retail storefronts to professional offices. "Clearly there is a tremendous need for commercial space in the region," said Marcy Seay, Director of Operations for the project. "This commercial center will not only serve the 400-plus homeowners at Hacienda Matapalo, but it will provide much needed goods and services to other communities that are being developed in the area." Intended to be completed in three phases, the Phase One commercial building will include multiple storefronts and a restaurant that overlooks one of the man-made lakes that is planned for the Hacienda Matapalo gated community. "There are several types of establishments that would be perfect for Phase One of the project," Seay explained, listing potential leaseholders. "A pharmacy, a grocery store and a tour company are all good choices," she said, adding that "a bank with an ATM, a real estate office, a clothing store, a hardware store and executive offices" would be ideal tenants. Seay said that the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center is, without question, the most anticipated non-residential project in the entire region. "Even prior to our official announcement, word of the commercial center had begun to spread," she admitted, "and now there are several people who are eager to lease space for their businesses." Seay also pointed out that with the growing interest of health care in the region and the booming health care tourism industry, the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center is a great location for various medical services. "We are looking forward to having a medical clinic at the commercial center," said Seay. "We've already had inquiries from a multitude of specialists who can provide services from pediatrics to emergency medicine." A medical clinic would give the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center the finest health care facility in the region next to Hospital de Osa in Cortes. While Seay could not disclose specific names of those who have already signed up to be included in the commercial center citing confidentiality agreements and individual timelines, she said several notable brands and identities have committed to the project. The nearly $6 million USD Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center is being funded by a limited partnership that was created where investment "units" are offered through a private placement memorandum to accredited investors. Construction is expected to begin with the advent of construction at the Hacienda Matapalo gated community, which is currently in the final stages of its pre-construction.
For more information on the Hacienda Matapalo Commercial Center or to inquire about retail space, interested parties may visit the Hacienda Matapalo Web site or contact Marcy Seay directly at 954-548-3000. # # # Post Comment: Trackback URL: http://www.prweb.com/pingpr.php/U3F1YS1aZXRhLUxvdmUtRW1wdC1GYWx1LVBpZ2ctWmVybw== | | | Other Releases by this Member | | |

Interest in Costa Rica Health Care is Nothing to Sneeze atMore than 700 people attended an online seminar to learn more about health care in Costa Rica. Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) May 1, 2010 -- On Thursday, April 22, more than 700 people attended an online seminar to learn more about health care in Costa Rica. Presented by Hacienda Matapalo Executive Vice President Brian Albury, the 60 minute comprehensive presentation included an overview of Costa Rica’s health care system and details on how it worked.
Costa Rica Health Care eSeminar “The 723 attendees for this particular eSeminar were the most we have ever had in the two years since we started providing this complimentary service,” said Albury. “What the number of participants tells us is that it is one of the most important topics for those who are looking at Costa Rica from both a lifestyle and investment opportunity perspective.” Albury’s comments seem to be echoing a national trend. When radio personality Rush Limbaugh told his listeners that if U.S. President Barack Obama’s health care bill passed the House and Senate, he would move to Costa Rica, not only did it further the debate between Democrats and Republicans, but it drew attention to Costa Rica’s universal health care system and both sides of the political aisle agreed it was the best health care system in all of the Americas. But what can one actually expect when living in Costa Rica? As with any nationalized program, one can expect red tape and long waiting periods, but despite that, the quality of Costa Rica's health care is excellent. Private high quality health care is available throughout the country and very affordable. Many doctors speak English and are U.S., Canadian and/or European trained. There are several large private hospitals in Costa Rica which cater to expatriates who live in the country including the 85,000 square foot state-of-the-art Hospital de Osa, located in the town of Cortez. The World Health Organization frequently ranks Costa Rica among the top countries for long life expectancy, ahead of the U.S., Canada and Great Britain (even though the per-capita income of Costa Ricans is about one-tenth that of the U.S.). Arguably, one of the reasons for this is the slower pace of life in Costa Rica and of course, the healthy, fresh, non-preservative foods found there and the tropical climate doesn’t hurt either. Costa Rica is just a healthy place to live. To ensure everybody has had the opportunity to watch and hear about this important topic, Hacienda Matapalo has posted the presentation in its entirety online at http://haciendamatapalo.com. Each month the leadership of Hacienda Matapalo provides various eSeminars to the general public free of charge on a variety of topics ranging from weather conditions in Costa Rica to sport fishing to investment opportunities. Several archived presentations are availableonline. The next complimentary eSeminar is on Wednesday, May 19, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern Time as Albury will present a comprehensive comparison between Costa Rica and other retirement/investment destinations such as Panama, Nicaragua, Belize and other places.
